For over 30 years volunteers from Shepherd’s Grove/Irvine Presbyterian Church have prepared a monthly meal for those in need at the Southwest Community Center. Before Covid-19, the Southwest Center served over 10,000 meals a month. The meal service was reduced during the height of Covid. However, now that vaccinations are beginning to be more prevalent, the meal service and other Center services are getting back to normal. The meal service includes 2 meals a day, every day of the week. Other services include providing twice weekly clothing and food bags to those in need, rental assistance of $1,500 per month to about 100 families, vaccination clinics, drive-thru tax preparation services, financial assistance to families in partnership with the United Way and Wells Fargo, and Financial Literacy Workshops.
Cost: $3.00 per meal or a donation of any size to help with the other services that the Center provides.
